Founded in 1962 by Mr. Erol Akbaş as a weaving workshop, AKBAŞLAR is one of the largest textile enterprises in Turkey with its textile spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing-printing and apparel enterprises.

GES yarn, which is the yarn business and brand of Akbaşlar Tekstil, was established in 1999 to meet the yarn needs of our textile group and to provide high quality yarn supply that is featured in the textile market. GES yarn has the largest production capacity in Turkey. It’s Turkey’s Second producer of High Court yarn. PES and nylon stand out as the company with the widest yarn production range with 115 products in its product range. While offering 75% of its production to the domestic market, it uses 25% in its own knitting and weaving plants.
